Invest PGH is a non-profit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) formed in 2020 and governed by a five-member board.

Current programming is focused on small business lending, offering flexible terms and underwriting standards. Lending is targeted towards investment areas as defined by the CDFI Fund in the City of Pittsburgh, as well as minority- and women-owned businesses within those areas.

CDFIs are mission-driven financial institutions that are dedicated to providing financial services to meet the needs of economically disadvantaged individuals within underserved communities by providing critically needed financing often unavailable from mainstream financial institutions. CDFIs are certified by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund and all share a common mission of serving low-income communities.

Invest PGH offers loans to small businesses in Pittsburgh to promote local growth and economic development, with a special focus on Investment Areas (IA) as defined by the CDFI fund, and minority- and women-owned businesses within them. As a certified CDFI, Invest PGH is part of a nationwide network and can access and utilize additional resources from the CDFI Fund as well as from private and philanthropic investors to support its mission.
